SourceSifterr Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

Who we are

SourceSifterr is a Chrome extension built by Ercole Automations ("we", "us"), based in Los Angeles, California.

This policy covers two different things, and they work very differently:

1. This website, where you can learn about SourceSifterr and buy it. 2. The SourceSifterr Chrome extension, which runs entirely inside your own browser.

The short version: we run no server for the extension. When you use SourceSifterr, your product data, your images, and your files go from your browser to your own Google account. They never pass through us and we never hold a copy.

What we collect

From this website. If you enter your email on the site, we collect it, and we use it to send you your access link and to reply to you about SourceSifterr. That is the only thing the website itself collects. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

When you buy. Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details directly with Stripe, not with us. We never receive, see, or store your full card number. What we do receive from Stripe is your name, your email address, your billing country and postal code, the last four digits and brand of your card, and a record of the transaction. We use that to fulfil your purchase, to handle refunds and support, and to keep the accounting records the law requires us to keep.

You also give us, at checkout, the Google account email you plan to use with SourceSifterr. We use it only to add your account to our authorized-users list so you can sign in. It is not used for marketing and it is not shared with anyone.

Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, as an independent company.

From the extension. We collect nothing. The extension sends no data to us, because we operate no server for it to send data to. There is no account with us, no login to us, and no usage reporting to us.

How we use Google user data

When you connect your Google account, SourceSifterr asks for three permissions. Here is exactly what each one is for:

PermissionWhat we use it for
drive.file (see, edit, create, and delete only the specific Drive files you use with this app)Creating your SourceSifterr folder, your project subfolders, and uploading the product images used in your deck.
spreadsheets (see, edit, create, and delete your Google Sheets spreadsheets)Creating your sourcing tracker and writing each captured product into it.
presentations (see, edit, create, and delete your Google Slides presentations)Building and republishing your client deck from the tracker.

Please read this part carefully. The spreadsheets and presentations permissions are granted by Google at the account level, which means the consent screen will tell you the extension can access all of your Google Sheets and Google Slides files. In practice SourceSifterr only ever reads or writes the trackers and decks it created inside its own SourceSifterr folder. It has no feature that opens, lists, or searches any other spreadsheet or presentation. We are telling you this because the permission Google grants is broader than what the extension actually does, and you deserve to know that before you click Allow.

Your Google files stay in your Google Drive, owned by you. We have no copy and no access to them.

Limited Use. SourceSifterr's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the features you are using, we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell Google user data, and we do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized artificial intelligence models.

Your AI provider key

SourceSifterr uses an AI model to read a product page and pull out the name, dimensions, and price. You supply your own API key from Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (ChatGPT).

receive it, and it is never sent anywhere except directly to the AI provider you chose.

storage, which is protected by your computer's user account and your Chrome profile, not by separate encryption from us. Anyone with access to your unlocked computer profile could read it. Treat your key the way you would treat a saved password, and revoke it from your provider's dashboard if your machine is lost or shared.

They are billed to you by that provider. What the provider does with that request is governed by your agreement with them, not by this policy.

What gets sent to the AI provider. For each product you capture: the page title and the first 8,000 characters of the page's visible text, with scripts and styling removed. We do not send the page's images, your Google account details, your tracker contents, or anything about your other tabs.

Data we do not collect

To be specific, SourceSifterr contains no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, and no third-party trackers of any kind. It does not record your browsing history, does not run in the background on pages you visit, and only reads a page when you click to capture it.

Where your data lives

ThingWhere it lives
Your AI provider key, your project list, your active project, and your saved preferencesYour browser's local extension storage, on your device only
Your sourcing tracker and client deckYour own Google Drive, owned by your Google account
Product imagesDownloaded from the retailer to your browser, background removed on your own computer, then uploaded to your own Google Drive
The email you enter on this siteA private spreadsheet in our Google Workspace
Your purchase record (name, email, last four digits, amount, date)Stripe, plus our own accounting records

Background removal runs entirely on your computer using a model that ships inside the extension. Your product images are never uploaded to us or to any image processing service.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We have never sold it and we have no plans to.

When you buy, your information goes to Stripe, our payment processor, so your card can be charged. That is the only third party involved in a purchase.

When you use the extension, data goes to these third parties and no others:

We may disclose information if required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case we will say so here before it takes effect.

Your rights

We are a small business and do not currently meet the thresholds that make the CCPA and CPRA mandatory for us. We honor these rights anyway, as a matter of practice. You can ask us to:

We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will never treat you differently for making one of these requests.

If you are in the EU or UK, we will honor GDPR requests on the same basis.

To make a request, email Support@ercoleautomations.com. We will respond within 30 days, and we will not ask you to create an account to make one.

Cookies, analytics, and Do Not Track

This website uses no analytics, no advertising cookies, and no cross-site trackers. We do not build a profile of you and we do not follow you across other websites.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no agreed industry standard for how a site should respond to one. Because we do not track you across other websites in the first place, a Do Not Track signal does not change anything about how this site behaves.

Third-party tracking. No third party collects personally identifiable information about your online activity over time or across other websites when you use this site or the extension.

The extension uses no cookies.

Children

SourceSifterr is a professional tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email Support@ercoleautomations.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell customers by email before it takes effect.
